Following the welcome Parker and Andrew Lee lead us in a call the Call to Worship and light the first Advent Candle.
The prelude, “Come All You Shepherds,” played by  Dr. Imre Szilas, is then followed by the Westminster Chimes and our Advent hymn: “Come, Thou Long Expected Jesus.”
Rev. Dr. Martha Campbell shares the announcements and prayer concerns for this week then leads us all in prayer.  Beginning this week we will share in reading an Advent Affirmation of faith.
The anthem is “Ding, Dong, Merrily on High” a traditional hymn arranged by Imre Szilas and played by Imre, Bowie Bossendorfer – drums with Quinn Davis singing.
Parker Lee then leads us in the Prayer of Illumination and Andrew Lee reads Luke 2:25-33 – the day Jesus was brought to the Temple and seen by Simeon.  Simeon is an amazing man because he saw and recognized not only that God had come into the world but was also that God is for us all.  The priests didn’t see it.  No one else in town saw it.  But Simeon saw it.
Since it is the first Sunday in Advent, after the sermon we celebrate the Lord’s Supper.  So now, before starting the video would be a good time to find something to eat and something to drink – anything you have on hand will do – so that we can share communion with each other virtually.
Following the prayer after Communion and the Benediction Dr. Imre Szilas closes the service with a rendition of “Gentle Mary Laid Her Child.”
We are very grateful for the sanctuary decorations by Ginger Loesch, Helen Darsie and Bill Loesch and that our services are filmed by Robert Smith who makes our services and  our sanctuary beautiful and available to all.
