July 25, 2021 Westminster Cares Act-PPP – 4 Rev. Dr. Twining F. Campbell III

Our worship service this week will be both in-person and live streamed at 10:00, on our YouTube Channel: Westminster Presbyterian Church Pasadena, CA.  Here is the link:

Rev. Dr. Martha Campbell welcomes the community to worship then Dr. Imre Szilas plays the Prelude: “Arietta” composed by Dennis Eliot.

After the Westminster Chimes, Pastor Martha leads the community in the Call to Worship and we join in singing the third verse of the hymn: “Praise Ye the Lord, The Almighty.”

Pastor Martha shares the Announcements, Prayer concerns and leads the congregation in prayer followed by The Lord’s Prayer.  As we try to “get back to normal” we pass the peace by Greeting Each Other in Place and waving to each other.  As we come back together we join in The Affirmation of Faith.

Today we are celebrating paying off our loan from the Small Business Administration to rebuild the steeple and sanctuary after the 1991 Earthquake.  Elder Norm Haynes assists the pastors as Treasurer of the Westminster Presbyterian Foundation.

The Anthem today is “O God, Thou Faithful God” written by A. Fritsch and J.S. Bach – played by Imre Szilas.

Pastor Twine offers the Prayer of Illumination, the Bible reading from Genesis 12: 1-3, 15:1-21 and presents the sermon: Westminster Cares Act.  This is the fourth in our “PPP” series.  Abram heard the voice of God and it changed his life forever – even though he experienced times of adversity.  Members of Westminster heard the voice of God, believed and acted on it, experienced times of adversity and we are still here today.

The service closes with the Charge, Benediction and the Postlude: “March in G” written by Henry Smart and played by Imre Szilas on the Westminster pipe organ.

Our services are filmed by Robert Smith and are available on our webpage (wpcpas.org) and our Facebook and YouTube pages (Westminster Presbyterian Church, Pasadena, CA).
