July 12, 2020 Windows of Westminster The Rev. Dr. Martha Campbell

This morning, Helen Darsie leads us in the prayer of Illumination and reads the scripture lesson.

Dawn Smith, talks about the South or “Emerald” Rose window that depicts Jesus’ parable of the Prodigal Son.

Imre Szilas opens and closes the service with excerpts from: “Suite on the Second Tone” by Jean-Adam Gulain.  The anthem is, “Gloria”— an excerpt from The Abonyi Mass written by Imre (the first rock mass ever written) and features the Westminster Trio (Imre Szilas – key boards, Bowie Bossendorfer – drums, Twining Campbell – bass guitar).

We continue our series, Windows of Westminster, as Rev. Dr. Martha Campbell talks about our Martha window.  Martha of Bethany is one of the easiest of people to identify with in the Bible because she was the one doing all the work while her sister, Mary of Bethany, sat and listened to Jesus.  When she complained, Jesus told her Mary had chosen correctly and she could have sat and listened as well.

Robert Smith, who has been directing and filming our services, learned that he may be going back to work in August.  We are very grateful for all he has been doing for us and he has produced another great video of our worship service today.
