FILMING AND EVENTS

Filming and Renting

Westminster's facilities and parking lot are available for filming or still photography.  We have hosted projects as diverse as the films Valkyrie, Old School, and The Wedding Planner.  Our facilities have been used in many student films and in April 2009 we were host to the wedding of Spencer and Heidi from The Hills.  We also rent out space for film parking.

Rates are competitive and available from the Administrator.

Westminster also has meeting space available for groups from 10 to 100 for one-time and ongoing use. Rates and availability vary. A current list of rooms and times are available from the Administrator.

New Member Classes

"Everything you always wanted to know about Westminster but were afraid to ask" - this might be the title for this 5-week course that covers everything from Christian basics to the Presbyterian Book of Order. Scheduled 3-5 times a year, the New Members class is essential for those who want to "step up" their commitment to the Westminster family or just want to learn more about Westminster's background and theology. Pastors Martha and Twine lead this intriguing class following worship as scheduled.

Fellowship
The Crew, Tradewinds, & Clipper Club are Westminster's fellowship groups.
  • The Crew
The Crew gathers once or twice monthly for a variety of activities. The ages of participants range from 20-40 and childcare is often arranged for events.
  • The Tradewinds
The Tradewinds usually meet in the evening on the third Sunday of the month for fun and fellowship at the church. This group of "mid-life" adults plans an annual retreat and many off-site events as well.
  • The Clipper Club
The Clipper Club, Westminster's longest-running group, meets monthly - often for lunch on Saturday. Members are mostly retired and enjoy a more relaxed pace for their fellowship gatherings and yearly retreat.

Wednesday Night Dinners

From October to May, Westminster's Membership Committee sponsors a monthly dinner and program highlighting a variety of topics of interest. The Wednesday Night Dinners are usually held the first Wednesday of the month at 6:30 pm - RSVP's are appreciated.

Service
Westminster is proud of its tradition of service to the local community and the wider world. The congregation supports a variety of projects through special offerings, hosting at Westminster, and direct involvement. The annual CROP Walk is an example of an event covering all three areas.

Other

Westminster also sponsors a wide variety of all-church events throughout the year, often in cooperation with Westminster Children's Center. Gathering as a congregation for picnics, concerts, or intergenerational activities provides opportunities for interaction with members and friends of the church beyond Sunday morning worship.
